Building Surveying Services

At AJN, we can undertake all building surveys whether old, new or unusual.

A building survey is a comprehensive inspection of a property reported in a style to suit the property and your specific requirements.

It’s suitable for all properties, especially;

• Older properties
• Buildings constructed in an unusual way
• Properties you plan to renovate
• Properties that have had extensive alterations

Building Surveys can also be known as structural surveys, but they are not the same as a Home Buyer's Report. For houses pre-1900 Home Buyers Reports may not be suitable and in some circumstances a Building Survey may be more appropriate.

A Building Survey can include details of:

• Major and minor defects and what they mean
• The possible cost of repairs
• Results of damp testing on walls
• Damage to timbers—including woodworm and rot
• The condition of damp-proofing, insulation and drainage (though drains aren’t tested)
• Technical information on the construction of the property and the materials used
• The location
• Recommendations for any further special inspections

Land Surveying Services

We are experienced land surveyors and whether it is planning for Land Registry purposes or a boundary line that needs to be established using our Surveyors Total Station the work can be achieved quickly and accurately.

We also undertake topographical surveys and can prepare drawings showing existing and proposed levels to satisfy planning and other design requirements.
